Awesome site and I don't even really necessarily care for the Twins! I do however enjoy sites dedicated to collectibles of a single player or team though, even if it's not my player or team. I collect sports memorabilia though and the Dodgers are my team (sorry about '65 guys!), but I also like Rod Carew items, especially Twins items.

I'd love to find (or start, if I had the skills) a similar Dodgers site! Keep up the good work. I have bookmarked the site and visit periodically to view the various items and photos.

Twinscards reply : Things are in the works to cover ALL baseball teams. Just type in www.dodgerscards.com and see what you find! Our webmaster is hard-at-work to universalize the twinscards.com concept and ALL sites will hopefully contain stuff similar to this site...if the fans out there are willing and able to take the time and energy to contribute from their collections!

Great website! I am an avid Twins fan and have been trying to put a team collection together. Your site is both incredible useful and nice to look at! Keep up the good work.

Twinscards reply : Thanks for visiting the site Shannon. It's collectors like you that the site is intended for. The good thing about a site like this and the dedicated following we have is that new stuff will continue to go up on the site. We'll never get it all, but we'll put up anything we can get our hands on. Thanks again for the nice words!

Wow this site has everything!
I am a big twins card collector and I love coming here!
I just started checking out stuff like the forum and Blogs and they are great!
I can't wait for the new trivia questions (I love Twins trivia)
I'm a fan of this site for life!
Keep up the good work and I hope I can contribute some way or another in the future
Joe A.

Twinscards reply : Thanks Joe, nice to know we have another satisfied customer. We have a small, but very dedicated community here. Please feel free to jump in wherever/whenever you feel comfortable.

I've gotten lazy on the trivia as life events have taken over from daily site updates, but rest assured, new trivia is on the way. This time, we'll have some vintage Twins' autographed cards up for grabs. Thanks for stopping by...glad you're staying!

Growing up in Massachusetts, I was a Senators fan at 9. In 1960, I stayed
with them at season's end when they became the Twins. I am now 67 and continue to be a Twins fan -- 58 years all together. In 2000. I retired as police chief in Massachusetts. My secretary contacted the Twins and I received an 8/10 congratulations on my retirement from the Minnesota Twins team. That was the best gift and I will always cherish it.

Twinscards reply : The Twins-era began when Calvin Griffith took control of the team in the mid-50s. And with all the choices...New York, Boston, Baltimore...you choose the Senators. Kudos to You! The Twins had a good crop of players that they inherited from the Senators, losing what seemed to be grizzled veterans in the expansion draft. The Twins were successful because of expansion and the coming of age of all those great guys that played in 64-67, and the next crop in 69-72. Us Twins locals are looking forward to 50 years of Twins baseball, right around the time they open the new outdoor stadium (hummm...less than a week before opening day and still snow on the ground and the weekend looks mushy -- thank heaven for the Dome in '0.

OMG Yes great memories of the greats! I remember as a little girl and sitting by my dad in the living room watching the twins, and one thing that always sticks out in my mind is the voice of the sports caster saying HARMON KILLEBREW IS UP TO BAT, and then KABOOM, A home run, ITS OUT OF HEREEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!

Twinscards reply : Killebrew IS the Twins icon from their early season. A wonderful quiet fellow whose bat spoke for him 500+ times! The homer has always been worshipped in baseball. Check out the 1962 Topps Twins cards and see the one where "Killebrew Sends One into Orbit."

Hi, i'm 7 years old and i realy enjoy this site. I started to collect baseball cards when i was 6 or 5 . Now i have about 862 cards. Me and my dad are we going to send cards away for autographs.

Twinscards reply : Baseball is certainly a father and son endeavor (okay, parent and kids). And baseball players respond well to youth...reminding the players that they are, indeed, role models for future generations. Have fun. Cheer your favorites at games (or as you watch television or listen to the radio). And be sure to keep "dad" involved. Too often the older fans forget the joy of being a fan!

ron coomer played college ball here in taft ca. great player & great person. i've been collecting his cards since 1995 but should have started in 1987: so now i'm looking for all his minor league cards including any allstar teams he played on. i have no idea what exist so i'm using the list of minor league teams he played on. please someone HELP!!! thanks rustyjunky

Twinscards reply : Coomer is great locally, as the Fox Sports analyst (rotates with Roy Smalley) on television. Beckett has a great book that lists players alphabetically with all the cards they know about. Looks like he has the following minor league cards: 1988 (3), 1990 (1), 1991 (3), 1992 (3), 1993 (1), 1994 (4), 1996 (7), 1997 (3). Some are for All-Star appearances in the different leagues. But I would check out the Beckett, maybe at the local library where you can photocopy the page. Wow, I also counted over 250 cards showing Ron's batting stance! You can google "minor league baseball cards" and get some good links to folks who handle the various team sets. More and more sets are showing up broken on eBay, too. JUST A NOTE: If asking questions along this line, better to join the TwinsCards "Forum" where a variety of folk can answer you inquiries and react to your posting!

This site is so incredible. I've been online for over an hour, just realizing I have a life, family, kids, so I better pry myself away.

This is such an indispensable place for reference. I've been looking up the 1960's photo section ('67 Dexter Press, 1966 Texaco, etc.). Laughing my brains out over your inclusion of Twins cards in Gameday editions, with funny captions. Great Job, Blake

Twinscards reply : Thanks Mike. The site is only as good as the collective genius of its staff and we have a great group of guys (and gal) who make this site what it is. I'm just the guy with my name at the top of the page but they do all the work.

Glad you're enjoying the site...especially the photos. Loren Skatter and Pat Bones have done an incredible job creating the most comprehensive team photo collection I've ever seen.

Keep coming back...and tell your friends!

My collection of over 30,000 cards was stolen some time ago, and to be able to view some that I had and many others that I didn't even know existed helps replace my lost collection. The photos are clean, and the backs are easy to read. Thank you so much for creating this site!

Twinscards reply : Dan...sorry to hear about the collection. Was it all Twins? I'm glad we could help you capture a bit of what you lost. It's things like this that make this site entirely worth it! Thanks for stopping by and hope you keep coming back.

Twinscards reply : Oh, so much work goes into this site. And new stuff is added, it seems, on a daily basis -- check out "what's new!" We welcome ALL Twins fans, be they boyfriends or girlfriends, to check us out!

Twinscards reply : Thanks for visiting, Eric. The site contains a variety of collections and, hopefully, will cover the entire Twins memorabilia spectrum as time goes on. Clicking on the "house" by your name takes one to your unique collection! Cool!

researching into oddball greg olson issues, i ran across this website. being a homeboy of greg olson, mets, twins, braves minor leaguer and twins, braves major leaguer, i found this website outstanding. there is a mets site, but nowhere close to this. thanks for everyone doing a great job.

Twinscards reply : Yes, Greg Olson is definitely a homeboy, still residing in Minnesota. The Golden Gopher alumni is heavily illustrated card wise on this site. We are definitely trying to be the ultimate stop for anything Twins -- especially in regards to players with our links to stat databases and the cards and photos from area collectors. Thanks for stopping by!

Can anyone tell me where I can buy any of the things I found on a player. He is George Banks, Twins 1962- 1963- 1964 -- he was a school mate of mine. Grew up with George!

Twinscards reply : Hi Linda, thanks for visiting the site. All the stuff you see on-site comes from individual collections and are not for sale, but eBay is a good place to start. A quick search on eBay shows about 60 items...some under $1, for George Banks, who passed away in 1985. George also was a member of the Cleveland Indians team. Good luck and let us know what you find.

What a great collection! I enjoyed seeing the cards of 1960 & 1961. Seeing the names and faces of my teammates brought back many great memories. Thanks for being such a great Twins fan!!!!

"Jake" Jacobs

Twinscards reply : Thanks Jake! For those who don't know, Jake played for the Twins/Senators in 1960-61 and you can view details about his career by searching him out on our "Players" page. Jake is just one of many former (and current) players from the organization that visit Twinscards to look at their card and photo images, as well as those of teammates from their major and minor league careers.

We hope to hear more from Jake in the future!

Hi fellas. I recently decided to buy the 2004 Topps Series base set for my son in honor of his birth year. The funny thing is I looked through the cards and really enjoyed it. Up to this point I haven't been a baseball fan or collector. As chance would have it, my neighbor is a huge fan and has been collecting cards and other memorabilia since the '60s. I told him I planned to collect the Topps base Twins sets from '61 on. He then mentioned this Website and I've been engrossed in it ever since. Your checklists have enlightened me on the scope of my endeavor, which I REALLY APPRECIATE! Thank you very much for putting forth the immense time and effort investment required to make this wonderful Website a reality. Thank you also for sharing your collections, stats, links, and thoughts. I used a link from your site to purchase some additional cards. My hope is that Twins card collecting is something my son and I can enjoy together in the future. We'll see. His favorite pastime is baseball so we've got a crack at it! Again, THANK YOU!!!

Twinscards reply : THIS is why we do this site! You are VERY WELCOME! Our own staff covers multiple generations of Twins fans! And baseball is one of the best fathers/sons pastimes around!

Very much appreciate your e-mail response, TwinsCards, regarding the 1962 TOPPS Baseball Card Stamp Album. If there's anything I wish I had held on to over the years, it's that! Hope to see scans of *some* of that stuff in time... Meanwhile, thanks to your site I was able to re-view all those cards from the 1962 season. Many, many, many thanks!

Twinscards reply : The joy of this site is that hopefully you can not only see all that stuff you used-to-have, but also stuff that you wish you had...and we can start you on that search! Especially folks to look at the "Players" section where you can see the variety images of all players, minor league guys, and team officials (even Wally the Beerman is there).

FYI = Quinton McCracken is not in baseball anymore. An arm injury force him to retire, but he is in Ft Myers. He was at Hammond all spring, and told me he was trying to get a radio gig on the Miracle. He did have a pass to enter, and I think he's doing some sort of media on the Miracle for a paper. Interesting site, I'll check it out, and check my old baseball cards for something you might be missing.

Twinscards reply : Quinton did end up signing to play the outfield with the Bridgefield Bluefish in the indy Atlantic League in 2007, batting .276 in 341 at bats. So he delayed his broadcasting career for a season. By the way, the Bluefish is co-owned by former Twins announcer and major league pitcher (had an arm injury named after him) Tommy John. Check those cards, always looking for those Minnesota Twins oddities!
